I, a friendly enthusiast, am but a padawan…

I met another key figure in my gardening endeavor at that Common Ground town hall. Craig Page is the Executive Director of P.L.A.C.E. (Promoting Local Agriculture and Cultural Experiences) and he messaged me about him wanting to discuss my plans for the NCSCG. He’s a real, cool guy and he directed me towards a Flagpole story on a Pope Street Community Garden (that’s right around the way!) started by the work of the Karen Witten with the help of her husband Wray and their homeless homie, Tommy Chester.

I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW STUFF LIKE THIS WAS GOING ON!!!

It’s comforting to know that there are Jedi gardeners among us. I will get in contact with Mrs. Witten this coming week and see if she has any tools I can borrow as well as any advice I can have. More work will soon be done!
